Another season of tennis on the red clay is coming to a close. The last day of play at ATC in 2026 will be Friday, October 16. The club has scheduled our end-of-season work party for October 17 at 9 am (rain date is Sunday, October 18). Come join your fellow ATC members as we take down the nets and pull up the lines. Many hands make light work! It will also be a very nice way to close out the 2026 season - spending one last day in 2026 with all the ATC community.

Bring your work gloves and hammers (to pull up the line nails). Coffee and donuts will be served. We usually have a great turnout; taking down the courts usually takes 90 minutes or so. Hope to see you there.

We want to send a huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Nicholas for organizing and running our Tuesday and Thursday doubles sessions all season long!

Thanks to his dedication, our weekday doubles remained a favorite spot for low-key competition, great rallies, and even better company. Organizing courts and keeping things running smoothly week after week is no small task, and Nicholas made it look easy while keeping the vibe relaxed, inclusive, and fun for everyone.

Nicholas, thank you for your time, energy, and commitment to our tennis community this season—we truly appreciate all that you do!

With autumn conditions here, the fall playing season won't last forever. Don't let these remaining gorgeous days pass you by—grab your racquet and come out to enjoy some tennis while the season lasts!

The final tournament match concluded yesterday in a scene reminiscent of the 2008 Wimbledon Final in which Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer 9-7 in a fifth set at twilight. 

Well, they didn't play a fifth set, but there was an exciting, match tiebreaker in which #1 seeds Lisa Allison and Yi Zhang narrowly defeated #2 seeds Betty Lin and Scott Nevins in the fading light. It was certainly one of those most exciting matches I witnessed at the club this year. Well done, players!

Starting October 1st, the following operating hours are in effect:

Weekdays: 7:30 AM-6:30 PM

Weekends: 7:30 AM-6:00 PM

On Saturday, September 19, ATC held a dual event: a fundraiser for 15-Love and a celebration for retiring Club Manager Larry Yakubowski.

More than 60 club members, former members, and members of the Capital Region tennis community turned out for this special day.

The celebration of Larry Yakubowski was emotional and heartwarming, with his family by his side. Club President Gary Henning, long-time member Steve Beditz, and new manager Chris Bradt spoke and expressed their gratitude to Larry. The club presented him with a plaque that will hang permanently on Court 1, naming the court in Larry’s honor.

Congratulations to Anthony Sericolo for winning the Men's Open Singles! Anthony defeated Max Levine yesterday in the championship match, displaying poise and great court coverage. 

Congratulations, as well, to Jim Axford and Bob Farley (the #1 seeds) in winning the Men's Open Doubles championship against Matt Burton and Mark Kenick. Jim and Bob make a great team.
